Good morning, my RS visa expired in April and I have not been able to leave the country to switch to an ED visa as I've been enrolled and attended university since then. I know that to change to an ED visa you have to leave the country. My question is this I just got married this weekend and wanted to know if to apply for a marriage visa I would have to leave the country. And also since I'm going to immigration today to get an extension. Is there a way for me to stay in Thailand for the 60 day seasoning period I would have to have 400k baht?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about transitioning from an expired RS visa to a marriage visa after recently getting married, and whether they need to leave Thailand to do so. They also seek advice on an extension while needing to manage a 60-day seasoning period to meet the 400k baht requirement for a year extension.

seeing as you're going to the immigration office today to get an extension how about taking your thai wife along and ASKING them what the requirements are for getting a 60 day visit thai family extension? That would buy you the time you need to get the 400K baht seasoned in your account for the 2 months so you could apply for the year extension..
