What are the steps to obtain a DTV visa in Thailand after issues with an LTR visa application?

Just got my Visa approved! It took many months as I originally had applied for LTR because I meet all the requirements but there was an issue with my employment situation regarding me being a contractor and my contracting company not willing to release financials, so I switched to DTV and the process took about a month. I used THAI VISA CENTRE - visa agent. After they submitted everything to the LA embassy I flew to Thailand and my visa was issued after about 15 days. Now all I have to do is fly out of Thailand to activate it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their experience of getting a Thai visa approved after initially applying for an LTR (Long-Term Resident) visa. Due to employment verification issues, they switched their application to a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), which was successfully processed by the Thai Visa Centre. After flying to Thailand, the visa was issued within 15 days. Comments discuss concerns about LTR eligibility, activation procedures, and necessary documentation upon arrival in Thailand.

Thank You for your helpful report πŸ‘

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Consider yourself lucky that you were issued the DTV visa...as you returned to Thailand during the visa processing time.

A NO NO... and should not be replicated by others who are going to apply for the DTV visa. You are expected to stay in the country where you make application until the decision is known.

Yes the immigration system has been updated. Now this info is on the main screen. Previously this info was on a separate tab and most IO didn't look before.

TDAC would have nothing to do with it. The immigration system would know, unrelated to TDAC completely

Congratulations. Pitty about the LTR though as it has advantages. The DTV is still a great visa though. I regret not taking LTR 2 years ago now. Cannot cry over spilt milk

You don't need to "activate" it per se. You will, however, receive 6 months at a time stamp once you land. Make sure to present this either in printout or SS
