TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual, married to a Thai woman currently in the U.S., seeks advice on whether they can file for divorce without their spouse's presence. Comments indicate that her signature is typically required for the divorce, though there may be exceptions if the couple has been separated for more than five years. It's also suggested that the context of the separation matters regarding financial obligations.

Are you leaving her or has she left you, it matters that she has left first, or you will have to pay her some money if you have left her
Or if you have been separated for more than 5 years then you will be ok,she does not need to be there for the divorce but you have to let her know what you are doing
