2 questions 🙂🙏🏻.

Do Thai nationals require (COVID) travel insurance when entering Thailand?

Can anyone confirm the status of an expat (not Thai) married to a Thai government employee with respect to access to the Thai public health system. I have been told that spouses of Thai Govt employees are entitled to the same access as their partners.

TLDR : Answer Summary
In response to the questions about travel insurance and health system access for expat spouses of Thai government employees, it has been confirmed that Thai nationals do not require COVID travel insurance for entry into Thailand. Regarding the healthcare eligibility of expats married to Thai government employees, responses indicate mixed opinions, with some believing that these spouses may have access to health benefits, while others assert that expats generally do not receive the same status as Thai citizens.

Thais don't need health insurance. They also get fast-tracked on their Thai Pass.

None of this is true for spouses of Thai citizens. I know this from firsthand experience.

Edit: Just to be crystal clear, you will always be one of two things: 1) a Thai or 2) a non-Thai. To the Thai government, you will always be #2 in all things.

yes, I got the idea .. 🙏🏻

the question is wether the expat spouse of a Thai “government employee” has different status in this instance.

@Eric *******
No, because you are not Thai. You are either Thai or not Thai. The end.

2) My son is married to a Cuban, in Cuba. This is true there and free education. Not sure about Thailand but hey maybe.

Cuba and Thailand have virtually nothing in common .. hard to imagine nations further apart .. but thanks for your input 🙏🏻

On question 2, my partner (a teacher employed by the government) has mentioned this to me as an incentive to get married. Not sure of the details or how true it is, but she seems convinced.
