TLDR : Answer Summary
The person is planning to travel to Thailand in July and wants to obtain a 60-day single entry tourist visa with a 30-day extension. They are inquiring if they can apply for this visa now after booking their flight, and whether they need to declare their accommodation at immigration since they will be staying with their partner and son.

As you have a Thai son, Why not get the Non O Visa as Father of Thai child? Gives you 90 days on arrival. PLUS you can apply for a 60 day family visit extension of stay at Thai immigration for 1900 Thai baht.

that sounds convenient and easy/straightforward.

So if you have a Thai son as an America I go to Bangkok BKK Thailand on arrival and get a Non O visa as father of a Thai child (they stamp my passport a non O?) than after being there 80 days (10 remaining) I could apply for a 60 day family visit extension of stay for 1900 Thai baht.

I m sure you have to apply from your home country at the embassy provide proof of funds photo a return air ticket and address you stay

no... The Non O Visa as Father of Thai child is obtained BEFORE you fly to Thailand from the Thai Embassy in your home country using the Evisa online application system.

And as you are asking a question about yourself, I suggest you ask it on a New Post. Thank you.

Ellie has made a good suggestion. The choice is yours to decide.

get the Non O Visa as Father of Thai child. Gets you 90 days stamp on arrival plus you can get a 60 day family visit extension of stay at Thai Immigration office.

maybe SETV for 60 days + 30 days tourism extension + 60 days family visit extension is easier for same number of days stay

Good ☝️ point. Thanks πŸ‘

You should apply for Single Entry Tourist Visa before travelling to Thailand and SETV application requires you to provide air ticket information.

Once you arrive in Thailand, you can apply for 30 days tourism extension at the local immigration office that serves your address in Thailand.

I will be staying with my partner and son for 70 days last Christmas I just went on a tourist visa when they had 45 day extension but that's gone if I arrive on a normal tourist visa I can only get 30 days total 60 days

, If you arrive without getting Single Entry Tourist Visa in advance, you will enter on visa-exempt entry for 30 days and it's eligible for 30 days tourism extension. If you have proof of relationship with your half Thai son, you may be able to apply for 60 days family visit extension as well.
