Here 30 day visa exempt, and want to apply for the 30day extension.. can i apply at any point during the initial 30days, i want to rent a condo for 7 weeks, been here 5 days only, is it too soon to apply for the visa etension?
Answer summary
You can apply for a 30-day extension on your visa exempt entry, but the optimal timing may vary. Some suggest applying within the last week of your initial 30 days, while others indicate it might be acceptable to apply as early as 14 days prior to expiration, depending on the specific immigration office. Documents needed may include a TM30 form from your landlord and passport-sized photos.

I think it's 14 days prior to your current visa expiring. Just get a TM30 from your landlord then and go to immigration
ThaiElite50 Passport photos, photocopy of ID page of your passport, photocopy of your entry stamp showing your last permitted day, perhaps a TM30, 1900 baht in cash.
Depends on the immigration office you will use, many allow you to apply with 30 days left on your entry stamp but some such as pattaya will only allow in the last 7 days
