Hello I would like to have a 1-year ed visa to learn English or Thai, if possible online so that I can travel and visit Thailand and surrounding countries.

I will be mainly in Bangkok, would you have schools to offer me?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The ED visa in Thailand is specifically for students attending in-person classes at licensed schools. Online courses do not qualify for this visa type, as you must physically attend classes and be able to prove your attendance for immigration checks. While you might consider alternatives such as the DTV for language learning, it is essential to enroll in a recognized institution to comply with visa regulations.

If you want a visa with language learning as the main reason, you can not use online classes, which you can attend everywhere in the world.

ED-visa is for learning, but you have to attend classes all the time, and you may be tested if you are learning anything, and you must use most of your time for studying.

To tell the truth, I'm looking to have a visa over several months and occupy my time as well, so I thought to myself why not that. I love to learn new language. It would allow me to learn more and be able to express myself with Thais.

But I also want to be able to leave the country for a few days to visit the surrounding countries. And take advantage of this proximity. If it's not possible it doesn't matter, I was just wondering if online classes were possible

It is either or.

Either you are a tourist or you are a dedicated student (fulltime), if you want that the main reason to get a visa.

You cant always get what you want.

you can enter on a tourist visa or visa-exempt. You do NOT need a mandatory Non-Imm-ED (education) Visa to start a language course. You can go to school or do online language courses while being in Thailand on a touristic stay permit. However you must be aware that after a few touristic entries, you can get denied entry for misusing touristic entries for a longstay in Thailand. There is no official limit, this is up to the discretion of the border official

maybe try to get a DTV for thai language learning. less restrictive.

Once enrolled you will be expected to stay and attend classes and study. Not sure how you'd go travel if on ed visa.

ok And do you know if the application for a visa extension must be made successively?

you can't apply for a Non-Imm-ED visa on Online seminars. You will need a licensed school which you have to physically attend, because Immigration will be checking it. Some online schools will tell you that you can, but they are actually making you commit an offense against Immigration rules. It could have severe repercussions on your future visa applications

i think there are exceptions because im in a seated class which has a zoom attendance option and a few of my classmates (who attend on zoom) are on a edu visa. They just have to keep their camera on
