If the DTV visa… under the soft powers ( I think that’s what it’s called ?) … includes studying Thai language ? Or not
I know the ED Visa is for studying Thai but wasn’t sure if the DTV is also ?
And does anyone also know if on the ED visa … wondering if it’s always in person Classes ? Or hypothetically if you wanted to be situated more rural participating in a not for profit volunteer program .. and you want to study Thai at night online will that be acceptable on ED visa .. or if it has to be in person classes.
Just curious if anyone has an personal experience with this before I then potentially try to ask a visa agent etc
Thanks 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa does not cover studying the Thai language, as confirmed by the initial guidelines from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). To qualify for the ED visa, students must attend classes in person; online classes would not meet the visa requirements, as they do not necessitate being in Thailand.
No, Thai languages doesn't qualify for DTV as it was not on the initial infographic that the MFA released about the visa.
For an ED visa, you must attend class in person. You're saying that you need a visa to be in Thailand. If you were taking online classes you wouldn't need to be in Thailand, you can do that from your own country, so you wouldn't need a visa.
