TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of transferring visa stamps to a new passport typically requires the passport holder to be present. According to responses from community members, the visa stamps cannot be transferred; instead, you must carry both the old and new passports. The only exception mentioned is for the Extension of Stay stamp, which can potentially be transferred at the issuing Immigration Office.

You cannot transfer Visa stamps to a new passport, you use both passports. Only an Extension of Stay stamp can get transferred at the Immigration Office where it was issued.

you would wouldn't you! But this is Thailand. I just asked an agent over the phone and she said no the passport holder does not need to do this, that I can do it for him. I will find out for sure when I head down there at 8.30am tomorrow morning! This is why I am posting many questions here on FB about visa and immigration...because you get so many different answers!

I don't think people mean to get it wrong. The system keeps changing the rules, so that has a lot to do with it. Community has definitely helped!
