Can an American stay in Thailand for 90 days at a time, twice a year, without a large bank balance for a Non-O visa?

Please excuse me if this question is considered stupid.

I am an American 60yo. I would like to come to Thailand 2x per year for no more than 90 days each time. Is this possible? I do not have the 800k for a non O visa, and really only want to stay for 90 days at a time. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American citizen can visit Thailand twice a year for up to 90 days each visit without holding a Non-O visa. Upon arrival, they are granted a 60-day visa, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office. It's advisable to leave a gap of a few months between visits.

I don’t think that it would be problem for you as you want to enter the country only twice. You’ll be granted 60days on your arrival and get it extended for another 30 days at a nearest Immigration office. But make sure to leave a gap of few months before you make your second visit?
