DTV in Taipei? As an American?

I can’t find any info on the Taipei website because it just lists people who can apply that have a residency visa in Taiwan .

But can Americans without a residency permit in Taiwan apply?

I am in Taipei preparing my documentation and want to use the local embassy here for DTV which I heard takes 2 days to process

Does anyone know if there is an issue proving your freelance revenue if you only recently started a new company?

I was employed until April, now run an LLC in Dubai remotely. Now I wonder if the mix of documents will be an issue.

I was planning to go to Taiwan next week but also thinking about the digital nomad visa for Thailand. I got a German passport so it seems like I can actually apply in Taiwan while only being there as a tourist. That's amazing. Thank you for this link! 🫶

Do you have an ARC/APRC?

no. I used to though so I have my ID

Why?

@Janelle ****
when I applied for a tourist visa in January (as a foreigner), I got asked to prove that I was a resident here (arc/aprc) otherwise they wouldn't have processed my request. I actually tried to apply for that visa through a travel agent but they all refused that cuz I'm a foreigner (even tho I got an aprc).If you are on visa exempt then you might have some issues when it comes to apply for your visa

interesting. But why would you need to apply for a tourist visa as an American?

@Janelle ****
Till few months ago you could just get 30days on visa exempt. I wanted to stay one and half month and I didnt want to waste a day of holidays to apply for a visa extension in thailand so I applied for a tourist visa here (it is also cheaper, 1200$ vs 1900$ visa extension)

thank you . So I just use the pdf for the general visa application? Cause the one on Taipei site says MANILA , and it also doesn’t list the dtv visa as an option

@Janelle ****
yes you use the application that says Manila on it. Also in the ‘other’ line is where you write down DTV.

thank you I did that.

I had an ARC before , so I wrote my number for ID on the left - is it correct ? I no longer hold an arc
Joyce ****
@Janelle ****
sorry I’m

Not sure what an ARC is?

There is a line for ID number close to where you write your name.

I put down my country’s ID number but they never cross referenced or checked it.

not sure. Others have posted about Taipei. Search for their posts
