A SETV can be converted to a Non-Immigrant B visa inside the country, for work such as at a school. However:

- Can a SETV *evisa* be converted to a Non-Immigrant B visa inside the country?

- What about a VE stamp (with 15/21 days remaining on it)?

- What if you are on a SETV evisa, and then get a COVID extension while the school is preparing the needed documents?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, a SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa) can be converted to a Non-Immigrant B visa within Thailand, including both the traditional visa sticker and eVisa formats. The conversion applies to both the SETV types, with the key differences being the application forms used. Additionally, a visa-exempt entry stamp can also be converted to a Non-Immigrant B visa. However, the acceptance of conversion applications depends on the local immigration office; thus, it's advisable to check with them for specific conditions, especially under COVID-19 extensions.

The entries on SETV are the same, it's issued as sticker or eVisa. You will be stamped as "TR" on either visa style.

Those TR stamps from visa sticker or eVisa can 'be converted' to many Non-immigrant types, including B, visas inside Thailand.

Visa-exempt entry stamp is also convertible to Non-B. What different between them are the application forms you would use.

While most offices accept the application, it does depend on the local immigration office If you can convert your tourist entry stamp following Covid extension to a Non-Immigrant visa or not. Check with your local immigration office about your conditions.

Very thorough response, thank you.

Regarding going from a COVID extension to a Non-Immigrant visa inside the country, do you remember any past reports in the group of it being possible in Chiang Mai?
