Are watches cheaper in Thailand than the UK, especially second-hand Seiko and Omega?
Hi, not the usual visa question, coming to bkk for a few days then on to phuket, I collect watches, just wondered if they are cheaper over there than uk? second hand ones, seiko/omeaga...or it to dodgy, fakes etc?

Central World Plaza has a few second hand watch shops as well as MBK.
No import tax is involved as those are dealt within Thailand.
I bought some 60's Omega in decent condition.
Rolex and Carter are not the best deal compared to Tokyo, but I have no idea about UK market.

Thailand is not the place, Japan is there are hundreds of consignment and second hand stores selling super cheap branded real McCoy watches not fakes

if you go to Tokyo try Komehyo which is one of the largest ones in several locations from Ginza to Shinjuku to Shibuya etc but then there are smaller ones all throughout and I'm talking brands like Tag Heuer to Rolex to Cartier to Seiko to Omega all sorts for all budgets plus as a foreigner you can claim the 7% vat or sales tax refund on the spot or at the airport, in Thailand you can go to Chatoochak market on the weekend I have seen a few stalls selling watches in the antiques section but many more in the big red building across the road where they run the flea markets, good luck!Jim ***********
Dodgy fakes are brilliant copies. Mr Jack Pattaya does best ones I took Tag back for friend he went Tag shop adjust strap they told him its real.

No as Brandon said high import tax expensive resale. Singapore is the place to go if you collect watches

Usually only cheaper if they are fake. There's high import taxes making many things more expensive than the west.
