Hi, not the usual visa question, coming to bkk for a few days then on to phuket, I collect watches, just wondered if they are cheaper over there than uk? second hand ones, seiko/omeaga...or it to dodgy, fakes etc?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus is that while second-hand watches in Thailand can occasionally be found, they are often not cheaper than in the UK due to high import taxes, making resale prices higher. Many recommend looking in Japan, particularly in cities like Tokyo, where authentic second-hand luxury watches are easier to find at competitive prices. Thailand is seen more as a market for counterfeit or 'brilliant copies' of luxury watches, especially with mentions of buying from specific areas like Bangkok's Central World Plaza and the weekend Chatuchak market.
