For anyone who has gotten a softpower DTV. I have a question. Say you do 6 months of said activity (mui thai, cooking, etc) and get all your classes done.

Are you then required to continue paying evey 6 months and doing the activity for the entirety of the 5 year visa? Or just periodically picking it back up again maybe 6 months on 6 months off
Answer summary
The conversation addresses the requirements for holding a Soft Power DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) after completing initial courses such as Muay Thai or cooking. It becomes clear from various comments that there are no ongoing obligations to take classes for the duration of the five-year visa. Participants state that, after finishing the initial six months of classes, visa holders are free to take breaks and are not required to continuously engage in activities to maintain their visa status.

There's no clear answer to that question.

As others have said... there is no requirement to continue your chosen soft power activity course of study.

This is Thailand 🤗

There is currently no obligation to attend, complete or book more classes once the 5 year multi entry tourist visa is issued.

Absolutely Ian. That's exactly the way it is. Somehow, I believe the original poster already knew that though.

what makes you think that. I genuinely just wanted to ask because I’ve seen a variety of different answers to this question and I wanted to get some perspective on it. I have a family and many of the classes keep you tied to one location if you were expected to do it for five years in a row. And that determines if the soft-power route is okay with me. That is all. No trolling whatsoever. And to even suggest that is weird.

No not required it's a tourist visa. And there is no soft power DTV. Just the Destination Thailand Visa.

It’s not an argument provoking post if you’re a normal person.

It makes perfect sense to ask if you are expected to continually take courses, or if it’s ok to take extended breaks to travel.

In practice, most DTV holders are simply free to do whatever they want.

Dispossessed_flipflop No idea to whom I'm speaking but whether yourself and the original poster are the same person or not my comment stands. Your final sentence confirms that you already know the answer.

There is no obligation to continually have courses but your proposal of doing something for a while and then taking a break and doing something for a while again is most likely the scenario envisioned for the DTV visa holders.

You do not need to keep doing courses for 5 years despite

Sorry to disappoint you.

I not lack in the DTV department, same official sources used to expain the rules, regulations and law.

BUT you do not agree with these rules and that is for me no problem.

So you get confused.
