TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on the DTV visa application process while planning to stay at a friend's condo in Thailand. They inquire about the necessity of an invitation letter and other required documents, noting difficulties in obtaining documentation from their friend's employer. Community comments indicate that simply having an invitation letter may not suffice, and emphasize the need for additional documentation, such as business letters, particularly when engaging in soft power activities.

You can use whatever address you plan to stay at on arrival even 1 night in a hotel, just make sure whomever you rent from updates your tm30 including whoever your friend rents from. He must notify the owner and have them file a tm30 for any foreigners staying there.

Why would his employer give you an invitation letter?? You can’t work here on a DTV so no employee can provide that. If you’re doing soft power you need a letter plus a bunch of business documents from a reputable gym. Sounds like you both need to do some research.

Its an invitation letter from my friend that im staying in his condo as a guest and im not working im going in as soft power i have a online business

Johnny47 if you have online business then just apply for that specifically instead of soft power it might be easier to do and easier for immigration to issue the dtv visa

i guess i need form tm30 from my friends landlord? Am i right sir ? My friends company and landlord has lease agreement so they had to include my name in that

As guest

Johnny47 well to be clear you won’t need the TM30 for your DTV application, but yes on the day you arrive to your friends condo the landlord should file the TM30 for you

For your DTV the invitation letter from your friend should be fine 👍

I used them, they were great. I'm usually not the type to go through an agent, always just did my own paperwork, but in my case this time it was a little more complicated and I worried about rejection, with the stakes being very high for me personally, so I bit the bullet and paid the extra. May e I woulda been ok without them, but I was happy to pay for the peace of mind 👍🏼

No, an invitation letter is definitely not enough. Please do your research on this page
