Are the Laos embassy and Thai consulate/embassy closed on September 3rd?

usually because of the flights to Vientiane you are compelled to spend 2 more nights in Lao. That's because the flight doesn't arrive early enough to get to the consulate before they close and the next day it departs before you can get your passport back.

The fly to Udon, bus to Nong Khai, cross and make your way to Vientiane is about the best way to pull it off.

I just flew to udon and bussed it to Vientiane. Persoanlly i will be flying from now on. Messing around at the border is a pain in the ass. When when travelling with two people all the taxi fares start to add up!

Samuel Fila Later is better, 10:30 is the best time to arrive as most of the queue has passed through already so just a few people in front of you = small waiting time.

If you go earlier than this then you'll be stuck in line with the rest of the people that thought it would be a good idea to go early. This, of course, excludes the very first few but who wants to wake up ridiculously early, wait outside and wait inside?

Matthew Weber I don’t take night busses in SEA but you’ll need to pick Visa up on Tuesday trust me don’t go to early on Monday it’s hell and go about 3 to pick up
