Are Canadians and Indonesians still Visa exempt for Thailand, and do they need to fill out immigration forms on the plane?

Our departure date is early January 2025. A couple of questions. I am Canadian and my wife is Indonesian. I believe we are both Visa exempt for Thailand. Is this correct? Do they still give immigration and customs documents on the plane prior to landing at Suvarnabhumi? The reason I ask is because Laos has visa on arrival for me, she is exempt. And for Cambodia I have to do e-visa in advance and arrival card 7 days prior to arrival. These are our next destination after 10 days in Thailand. Just making sure I can arrive in Bangkok and just do it the old fashioned way, filling out documents on the plane. No e-visa required in advance? Also, we have to re-enter Thailand a second time for four days. No problem with one re-entry?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You and your wife can enter Thailand as visa-exempt travelers. Both of you will receive a 60-day stay upon entry. Currently, immigration and customs documents are not distributed on flights and the TM6 arrival card has been discontinued. However, starting December 1, an online application may become necessary before arrival. Your re-entry into Thailand for four days after visiting neighboring countries should pose no issues, allowing you to re-enter as visa exempt.

At the moment you just turn up , don’t fill anything on the plane , but I have read that after 1st December there is an online visa application everyone will need to do , won’t cost anything but will need to be done online prior to arrival , but as of now you just turn up

, You mean the ETA trial. It has been postponed until an unknown time.
@Derek *****
, No change is expected soon.

Introduction of the ETA is postponed. So for the comming months there is no online entry approval system.

Now That is why I’m asking this question.Because it changed for Cambodia last July. This sounds like their e-arrival app. And it’s kind of a pain for a guy like me, who doesn’t like change. I don’t mind doing documents on the plane, it’s all I’ve ever known. I guess I’ll have to keep a close watch after December 1st. Thanks for the heads up.

NOT a visa, it is an Electronic Travel Authorization, totally different to a visa and is only required normally for visa exempt entries to whichever country.

There's no longer is the TM6 arrival card to be filled out on the plane or entry into Thailand. It's been discontinued.

You will enter Thailand...as the Old fashioned way...

As you both will enter Thailand as visa exempt entry, you will be stamped in for 60 days.

If you visit nearby countries and return to Thailand, again you will be stamped in for 60 days.

So no TM6 given on plane? Where are documents filled out? Do we just fill out a regular arrival card on the plane? It has been 7 years since we’ve been there, just making sure it’s still done kind of the same way as 2018

@Derek *****
, no TM6 or documents are required at airports to enter Thailand on visa-exempt. Just go straight to passport control

@Derek *****
just show your passport and plane boarding pass to the Thai Immigration officers on arrival. No TM6 or other documents to fill out.
