I’ve been to Thailand already. I have a condo that I lease for a year I’m in America right now I go back in October I have $20,000 American dollars in my account. I’m looking to do Muay Thai cooking class or Thai language class will I be eligible for a five year DTV Visa?
Answer summary
The user is inquiring about eligibility for a 5-year DTV visa in Thailand while indicating they have a condominium lease and plan to take Muay Thai or cooking classes. Commenters provide various insights, noting that the DTV visa can be obtained through accredited educational programs, suggesting that a 1-year course may be more likely to yield the desired visa outcome. While the DTV is not primarily meant for long-term residency, some recommend considering alternative visas for extended stays.

Don’t mention about property. Just do course. Get ya DTV. Don’t over complicate things for them

If you want the DTV, I suggest signing up for a 1-year program because I’m in a very similar situation to you, met all the requirements, purchased a 9-month Muay Thai course with an accredited gym, and still was only given a 6-month METV. Make sure your program is accredited with the appropriate governing body and don’t overcomplicate it. If you throw too much paperwork at them it’s likely to just cause confusion.

Sounds like METV would be perfect for you, unless you plan on doing five years of courses and are serious about the training or cooking. Why else would you need five years?

Anonieme deelnemer For living in Thailand DTV is not the appropriate visa, LTR and Elite/Privilege are meant for that if you are not eligible.

DTV only works as long you have a remote job or soft power activity.

Only the Embassy/Consulate can decide if you are eligible for DTV. You can also get a 6 months METV,

I am doing a hybrid cultural and language course. Got my DTV approved. I had to provide a motivational letter as to why I want to take the course.

Yay Thai and cooking class is DTV eligible with a class that is over a certain amount of months. Language class is an education visa of up to 1 year and is renewable

You can do a MT course, or a hybrid of cooking with some basic Thai language lessons. Full-time Thai language course is not widely accepted.
