[edited for clarity.] it appears this post is a bit too pre-emptive. The evisa system says Aus and NZ can now use the evisa system but it appears it’s not quite the case just yet. It’s coming, but may take a few weeks. NZ says mid-March. I assume Aus may be similar but have no official details from there.

Ok Australians or others in Australia [edited to add NZ passport holders or those in NZ too] it now appears that you can use the Thai evisa system for visa applications. This has only been available in the past couple of days so we haven’t seen any posts as yet from someone who’s tried it. Please post your experience if you do.
This means that now you do everything online and there is no need to post your passport to the embassy/consulate. You get the visa by email as a PDF file. Print it out before you travel and show it to the immigration officer on arrival. They technically should see you have one on their system but may not spot it and stamp you in as visa exempt if not.
As said it’s all brand new for Australians to be able to do this so there may be some glitches. Feedback would be great on things like turnaround times etc from the various embassy or consulate’s.
Forgot to add the link. My bad.
