It's my first time sending out my passport original like that so please bear with me...

Did the embassy send email notifications along the process, or it is more of a "fire and forget" and you get your passport back in your courier bag?

I understand that this is the official expected processing time, and was wondering if there are any current circumstances out of my control that might cause delays (e.g. a backlog, courier issues, etc). Hence was asking for recent anecdotal experience 🙂

the thing that throws people off the rails is not submitting ALL the required documents for the visa they're applying for. That is the time eater in terms of getting the visa

Seeing as a tourist visa is valid for 90 days after they issue it <- that means you have 3 months to ENTER thailand on it, there's no down side in applying a month or so early.
