Hi all, I just got approved for the 60 day covid extension at Chiang Mai immigration (15 days under consideration for now, and hopefully the other 45 days starting on Jan. 4th. The 60 days begins on the day you apply). I don't think I've seen a post for Chiang Mai immigration yet, so I figured I'd share the experience. I am on a visa exemption from the USA and have already done the 30 day extension. This is my first covid extension.
I brought all of the items Benjamin Hays indicates in the Covid extension FAQ post, and I filled out the 4 documents while waiting in queue: 1) Covid extension request affidavit, 2) visa extension form, 3) acknowledgement of overstay form, 4) terms and conditions of stay form.
I also attached a flight confirmation for a ticket to Singapore on Feb. 17th, which is just before the 60 days would expire. I have no idea if this made a difference or not.
None of the officers I interacted with asked me why I wanted the extension.
This is just one person's experience, so take it with a grain of salt. In any case, I hope maybe it's helpful to someone. Thanks!
