Thanks for everyone’s help over the last year. Merry Christmas. I failed three times to open bank account then on fourth try I was successful. Opened at Krungthai in Tha Maka next to lotus. I only needed passport, evisa non o retirement visa from USA and TM30. Got my drivers license in Tha Maka yesterday. Watched videos for 4.5 hours then failed written test twice. Went back next day and passed written test and driving test.

Hi all,

My query relates to Drivers licenses. I have a Full Australian drivers license, if my license was cancelled or suspended can I apply for a Thai driver’s license by taking driving lessons and a driving test to the satisfaction of the examiner in Thailand and then be issued a new Thai drivers license ?

Thank you in advance for any advice

Quick report for who wants to get a thai driving license.

I've done car and motorbike today, had to take the test 2 times for a total of 100 questions.

Questions are poorly translated, some miss negations or make no sense at all as they are.

Some has more than 1 correct answer or no correct answer.

For example "alcohol increases time to react" and "alcohol causes slower response" look both correct to me but one is wrongly translated.

Some require to know a precise answer like how many meters, how many days, how many baht, common sense and experience from driving in your country will not help for those.

The day before the exam you have to sit and watch a 5 hours video, my advice is to spend that time looking online for all possible questions and pass through all of them.
