Approved in Jakarta - Soft Power(Muay Thai)

The process was smooth and stress free.

I recommend going early in the morning around 07:00. Check the documents multiple times and organize them well. There are people who spend a long time for checking and organizing their documents in front of the counter. Don't do that. The people waiting outside are suffering from the hot weather.

Korean passport holder

Visa fee : free for Koreans(also Singaporeans, Malaysians and Tunisians)

Processing time : 3 business days

Documents

- passport bio page

- 2 recent photos

- proof of stay in Jakarta

(hotel reservation and EVOA details)

- in and out flight ticket

- bank A's statement for 6 months

(transferred approx 500k THB 1 day before applying; my main account, so there are many transactions)

- bank B's statement for 6 months

(deposited approx 250k THB for ages; I don't use this account, so there are no transactions)

- muay thai gym documents

(3 months course; highly recommend Tiger Eye Martial Arts if you are staying in Bangkok)

- condo lease/rental agreement

(not required, but I thought it might help with the visa application)

Real question: What's the point applying for DTV if we (may) have to show proof of ongoing soft power every time we ask for extension?

DTV application 10k

6 month Muay Thai registration is 20 k

So far 40k a year plus 10k once.

Did i miss anything?

Hey guys!

I'm a US citizen looking to get my DTV in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I wanted help with the best practices/EXACT paperwork and docs needed so i get the least amount of additional requests or needless holdups:

I am a remote worker with an LLC although i'm fine doing soft power (muay thai or language) if that is a similar alternative. Which would be better?

Any advice and guidance would be super appreciated 🙏

I do not like people posting anonymously yet here I am -sorry 🥺

If I am married to a Thai woman and have been in Thailand on non o visa, is it still possible to get a DTV moving forward?

Of course all of the requirements would need to be met for DTV application.

Presently, and for about the next 5 years, it is a more sensible Visa for me to have (from my standpoint 555) as I leave Thailand within 180 days of arrival always.

Thank you

I will look at anonymous postings from a new perspective from now on.

Edit: I will clarify with more details.

I have taken an interest in Muay Thai prior to even knowing about DTV. I am old and many benefits of Non O are irrelevant in my situation .. mostly I enjoy touring around Thailand and enjoy the lovely lifestyle and genuinely enjoy the discipline Muay Thai offers

Hi all, advice needed as there seems to be so many options.

We are a family of 4, I'm 40, wife is 36, 2 children (12 and 7)

I have a ltd company in uk where I am the only employee but can work anywhere with a wifi signal.

Kids are both home schooled, so education isn't an issue.

What visa would be best option.?

My 12 year old wants to do muay thai, so education visa worth it?

Dtv visa - will it cover my family?

I dont fancy wasting money on border runs every few months, as we plan on going koh samui.

Any advice would be massively appreciated.

We don't have the funds for the elite visa, so that's not an option.

DTV Success in Vientiane.

Got DTV through Muay Thai. Gym provided all the proper papers. The visa support letter confirmed that I signed up for 1 class per week for 6 months. I used a Wise account to show the 500,000 THB equivalent for 6 months. I used the statement version where Wise will put a stamp and signature on the statement. I also included my rental contract in Thailand that goes to May 2025.

Applied on a Monday. They looked at my documents, seemed satisfied and told me to come back on Wednesday. On Wednesday, my visa was not ready and they said because Wise is an online account that they wanted to see my bank account app on my phone to confirm my name, account number and that the amount in the account matched the submitted statements. When they saw it all matched up, they told me to come back the next day and that’s when I got my visa.

Need some DTV advice, I apologize beforehand if this may be a long post.

My details:

1. I’m looking to become a remote worker (video editor) but I don’t have any freelance work coming in currently. I have an online portfolio which shows my work but that’s about it right now. My last paying job was one that I had in the US (not remote) last year before I got laid off.

2. I have enough in savings for the minimum 500K Baht.

3. I’m interested in Muay Thai but haven’t trained anywhere yet.

4. I also have a dental implant I need to get done.

5. I’m currently in Thailand but will be going to Vietnam in a few months for a few months.

6. I will be turning 50 next April.

So my main questions are as follows:

Which category should I apply with? Can I apply for several i.e Remote worker and need a dental implant?

Should I apply from Vietnam or when I return to the US? Does online or embassy applying make it easier?

Should I just get the retirement O-A Visa when I turn 50 next year over the DTV?

Thanks in advance for all advice!

Anyone do the DTV soft Muy Thai option in Pattaya? Any easy gyms or visa offices that make it easy and not charge a big fee? TIA.

My Muay Thai gym is being advertised on another website as DTV available.

I'm not sure who these guys are or weather it's just an information website, visa service or scam. But for sure if you want to go the Muay Thai route contact the gym website direct. Will definitely be cheaper and more legit
