I'm looking for recommendations for Muay Thai gyms in Chiang Mai that offer BEGINNER classes for the over 50 crowd, I mean BEGINNERS beginner. That also do DTVs.

I would attend every class, but I'm a slightly older person who hasn't done any workouts in probably close to 3 years.

I will being going to Chiang Mai on a visa exempt for 60 days to check out places for muay thai and language school and then will hopefully apply from Hanoi.

I am not interested in cooking. I'm interested in attending Muay Thai and regaining my physical strength. I said I would attend all classes in my post.

I'm thinking of doing this as well (approaching 40 soon), but I need to build an aerobic base. Apparently, they are HUGE on running first thing in the morning. Thanks for the leads.

take that first step and then you will get into a routine. No need to build an aerobic base. It will come.

By the way, I'm 49 this month so quite a bit older than you. I have been training Muay Thai about 3 times a week for the last couple of months and have lost 10 kilos. So, if you're looking to get fit and lose weight, just go. No need to build fitness first. I've heard people say that before and they never get round to starting.

You don't need to build fitness before going. They will help you build your fitness no matter what level you are at. And you don't have to go running before class either.
