What was the experience of getting a DTV Workation Visa and re-entering Thailand like for an expat?

Got my DTV Workation Visa approved in Hanoi the other day (4 working days) flew back into Bangkok via Don Mueang Airport today and had no issues at immigration. Despite having an 11-year visa history with various types. Tourist visas, visa exemptions, education visas etc.

I was nearly refused entry 3 months ago via land border using a visa exemption and told to get a proper visa. Just wanted to share that applying for the DTV in Hanoi wasn’t a problem, even with a long visa history, and re-entering Thailand went smoothly with absolutely no questions asked.

Big thanks to everyone in the group for all the support and info—really appreciate it!

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

THIS. I have about 8 copies in various locations including one in every bag that ever travels with me. Let the laughing and mocking begin - but better safe than sorry. I also had an immigration agent tell me to always have it with me when entering Thailand as contrary to popular opinion they can't always just "see it in the comptuer" - not yet anyway.

Anonymous participant 116 yeah, and that was also my main concern before applying.

I think the most important thing is that you submit a solid application and give them more than what they ask.

Thanks for the info. What date did you have between applying and your booked flight? Was it a short time or did you have a couple weeks allocated previously?

I didn’t book my flight back until yesterday evening. I was really enjoying myself in Hanoi so wasn’t in any rush to get back. No need to have a return ticket for the application, so just gathered I’d wait until u get approved first.

Cool thanks. I won’t be in Hanoi too long, but hoping with the documents in place I won’t require an interview and can just wait. The sooner the better though. Appreciate the reply 👍
