ORIGINAL POSTER
I visited back in January 11th for 7 weeks on visa exempt, then returned again mid May for 16 days then again mid September for another 16 days which on that occasion was asked how long would I be in thailand for by the IO, would it be fair to assume I'll be pulled aside or even denied entry if I was to return on the 9th December for 56 days? Any opinions guys as I'm seriously thinking of leaving it till January instead..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about returning to Thailand for an extended stay after multiple visa-exempt entries within a short period. They've received mixed opinions, with some suggesting that their history is good and not to worry, while others caution that entry can be unpredictable based on the immigration officer's mood. Recommendations include applying for a tourist visa for more security.

Just apply for a tourist visa then you should be good to go

December or January won't make any difference. But I would suggest you look at getting an appropriate visa. Visa exempt entries are primarily for the purposes of short term tourism.

I would definitely apply for a tourist visa

The truth is it all depends on the IO’s mood and the number of people they want to deny entry on that day. There are people who have been denied after just two entries within a year. No answer will be able to reassure you enough imo.
