What are some recommended Thai agencies for obtaining a DTV Soft Power visa and what are the associated costs?

Hi, can anyone recommend a Thai agency that can help with the DTV Soft Power visa?

I know I could apply on my own, but I’m currently living in Thailand and my visa expires in about 2 months, so I don’t really have time to complete a Muay Thai or cooking class certificate.

I already meet the financial requirement (500k+ THB in my account since Oct 2025). I was planning to use the same agency I used before, but they’re asking 110k THB (application via Laos or Cambodia).

Anyone knows a cheaper alternative?

Thanks a lot!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses seeking recommendations for Thai agencies that can assist with the DTV Soft Power visa application amidst concerns about high agency fees (110k THB) and the limited timeframe before the current visa expires. Various comments suggest that applying independently is feasible and encourage the person to handle the visa application without an agent or inquire at a gym/cooking school for assistance. There's a mixed response regarding the necessity of attending classes linked to the visa, with some claiming enforcement is lax, while others emphasize the importance of compliance with visa conditions.

Attending a few classes won't kill you. At least keep a good record of attendance. If you are currently on ED and didn't attend class. Be prepared to get rejected without reason as the previous ED itself is a red flag. Read here and you can see many ppl got rejected with perfect documents so it's totally discretionary by the embassy and they like to presume guilt unless you prove yourself otherwise. I got rejected the first time with well over more than 1Mthb in my account and a 6mo course. Everything was authentic and well organised. I had multiple visa exemptions and previous ED as well.

Sorry to be disrespectful, but these are exactly the type of people that Thailand should not be allowing in…

Wants visa without doing the thing the visa is for, and too dumb to figure out an incredibly easy form and application

The world is cooked 🤦‍♂️

Anonymous participant 467 Maybe read my original post again. I literally said I can apply on my own. I just wanted to know whether attending classes is actually enforced. That’s it.

Let’s not pretend this is some moral high ground situation. A huge portion of nomads in Thailand are on ED or now DTV visas with little to no real intention of actively attending classes. Thai authorities are well aware of this — and they’re also well aware of how beneficial long-term foreigners are for the economy.

It’s the same reason why no one suddenly bans all the street food vendors outside 7-Eleven. Is it technically illegal? Often yes. Can you imagine what would happen if they disappeared overnight?

So yeah — thanks for the lecture. Very enlightening.

If Thailand ever needs a random Facebook comment section moral officer, I’m sure you’ll be first in line.

It’s actually funny how carefully you’re quoting parts of my post.

Why didn’t you quote the very first line you mentioned, where I literally said “help with DTV Soft Power visa” — not “apply for me”?

As for “where’s your data?” — it’s called being on the ground. Talk to people, read this group, look around. Not everything that’s widely known needs a spreadsheet.

There’s a difference between legality and morality. I don’t see a moral problem in doing something that’s technically illegal but harmless. Modern life makes total legal purity nearly impossible, and Thailand is a clear example of a system where even locals joke about some outdated and bizarre laws.

If that bothers you, that’s your problem. I mind my own business — maybe try the same.

Anonymous participant “ I literally said I can apply on my own “ - you literally asked for agents to apply for you. That was the point of your post in your first sentence.

“ A huge portion of nomads in Thailand, with very little to no real intention of actively attending classes “ - wrong. Where is your data?

“ let’s not pretend this is a moral high ground situation “ - You taking advantage of the goodwill of a host country who are trying to promote aspects of their culture, is quite literally a moral high ground situation. In fact, most of life is a moral high ground situation, unless you’re a selfish sociopath.

Consider SIAM Legal (do your research) ie if you really need an agency else just learn and apply yourself.

You have two months. You have plenty of time. Go out of the country and submit your application. Fill in the form and upload the requested documents. Super easy. Why spend so much money on an agent

Oh, I didn’t know that! But is there any option to enroll somewhere without actually having to attend the classes?

Asked every day. Agents are a total waste of time and money for DTV. You have to assemble all the docs yourself to give to the agent, by which time you might as well just upload them.

Pointless

Yes pick a school or gym that offers DTV and let them do the packet for you with their enrollment

You only complete the Muay Thai or cooking class after you are approved for the DTV and you can only apply after your current visa expires…so you have plenty of time.

It’s very easy and straight forward, you can do this yourself.

What do you mean you don’t have time to complete a Muay Thai or cooking course?? You begin your course when you come back into the country with your approved visa. Are you asking for an agency who can get you the visa without you leaving the country?

Anonymous participant 398 Ahh, got it — thanks for clarifying. In that case, is there any follow-up or monitoring to check whether someone actually attends the classes, or how is that usually verified?

Leaving the country isn’t an issue. I’m totally fine doing a short trip to a nearby country for a few days if needed.

Anonymous participant yes, they check if you are actually doing what you’re supposed to be doing. If it’s language, then you better be able to answer their questions in Thai after a few months.

They have other ways of checking. If you are fraudulent and simply doing a “class” for a visa and not attending, it’s likely a ban from the country…

Anonymous participant There’s infrequent reports of immigration asking for proof of still being engaged in a soft power activity upon re-entry but there’s no formal attendance tracking mechanism as of yet.

Obviously though, if you obtain the visa with a course that you have no intention of attending that would be considered fraud and immigration may deny you entry as you’d be violating the conditions of your visa.

Anonymous participant 761 Such 'reports' are invariably anonymous. Can you point to anything written by MFA or immigration stating that failure to attend enrolled courses can result in denied entry?

Likely bought the current Thai Visa from an Agent without the need for attending classes and passing tests. Those are problematic visas to have in your passport.

Pardon me, but it's totally ridiculous to pay an AGENT such an OUTRAGEOUS FEE.....

What is your passport nation?

Where are you living in Thailand?

What Thai Visa, if any, do you now hold in Thailand?

What soft power activity are you planning to apply with for the DTV visa

Where are you going to apply for the DTV visa?

Sounds like you have used a Thai Visa Agent to get you the Thai Visa you are now on...is it an Ed Visa ?

Yes, that’s correct. I’m currently finishing my second year on an ED visa. I live in Chiang Mai and hold an EU passport.

I’m starting to understand that I should be able to handle the DTV application myself. But is there any option to apply without the requirement to attend classes?

You're trying to get the DTV visa by fraud 😠. NOT a good idea.

You may have been successful (AND VERY Lucky) in getting the Ed Visa and not attending classes and passing tests...

There are several DTV soft power activity courses which are easy to meet the course sponsor requirements.

Where are you living in Thailand?

What is your passport nation?
