Mÿ friend (Belgium passport) is backpacking and spent about a month in Thailand, then went to laos for a few weeks, came back to Thailand (for a total of another three weeks) and is planning to go to Cambodia next. His return flight (already booked) is from Bangkok though. He is now worried that he won't be allowed entry a third time (first entry via airplane, second via bus, both on visa exempt). I told him not to worry as he has a booked flight and intends to take that flight but he asked me to verify. Any thoughts?TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring if their friend from Belgium, who has backpacked in Thailand multiple times (on visa exempt entries), will face issues re-entering Thailand for a third time. Most responses suggest there shouldn't be any issues since he has a booked return flight, but some caution about the border crossing situation and advise avoiding specific land borders like Poipet due to potential immigration issues. Users suggest that while normally returning travelers have no problems, there have been reports of individuals being denied entry at certain crossings.
hes well within the rules but apparently the poipet immigration are turning people away even when they are within the rules and the fact hes been there on 2 visa exempt stamps and 1 land crossing already he maybe in the shi+ so maybe he should try another border to be safe
correct on both statements...best to stay away from that border crossing unless you like to look for problems and trouble, or maybe want to write a blog on being scammed, robbed, ripped off, etc.
shouldnt be but its becoming common the poipet immigration are making up their own rules from what im hearing. i have to do 2 border runs to cambodia and im going to avoid that border like a plague
