I was asked by immigration to do my first 90 day non o marriage visa report in person on 9 Sep 2024. If I leave Thailand prior to this date will the 90 days reset, starting from the day I re-enter the country? What happens if I re-enter the country after 9 Sep? Thank you in Advance Tod ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you leave Thailand before your 90-day non-O marriage visa report on 9 Sep 2024, your 90-day count will reset and start again upon re-entry into the country. There are no consequences for re-entering after the 9th as long as you departed before then, meaning you'll follow a new counting of 90 days starting from your arrival back in Thailand. Remember to do a TM30 when you return and ensure you have a re-entry permit.

You have to keep track of the 90 days yourself after you come back. No reminder in your passport.

Q. If I leave Thailand prior to this date will the 90 days reset, starting from the day I re-enter the country?

-> Right. Your 90-day count starts on the day of your arrival in Thailand as Day 1.

Q. What happens if I re-enter the country after 9 Sep?

-> Nothing would happen as long as you leave Thailand BEFORE 9th September. Just start a news 90-day counting on the day of your arrival.

Anytime you leave Thailand before hitting the consecutive 90th day, your 90-day counter reset and restarts on the arrival date as day 1.

Once you leave Thailand before the date on the slip, that date that was given to you, September or October, doesn't matter any more. You can just throw that slip away if you leave Thailand before the date on the slip (usually, the immigration officer at the passport control on departure would discard it).

@Ellie ******
thank you. Just a quick follow up. I was told by the immigration officer that I have to show up 90 days from July 23 2024 (Oct 21, 2024). Given what you told me if I land in Thailand after Oct 21, the 90 days starts on the date I arrive and I don't have to report on Oct 21, correct?
