If I have a DTV through soft power of a 6 month course, and I exit and re-enter Thai after 180 days after the course expires, will I be denied entry?
Answer summary
The question discusses concerns about re-entry into Thailand after the expiration of a DTV visa tied to a 6-month course. While the individual seeks clarity and reassurance, responses indicate that the decision for re-entry ultimately lies with immigration officers. Some affirm that once the course is completed and if the purpose of stay matches a general visitor—a vacation, for example—entry should not be denied; however, the need for continued enrollment in the course is a significant concern. The discussions highlight varying opinions on the enforcement of rules and the subjective nature of immigration decisions.

I have recently entered and re entered a number of times I am on soft powers DTV.
I was never asked anything but of course doesn’t mean you couldn’t be.
GiftedPapaya7858 I know the answer, I checked at embassy and immigration.
With a bit of common sense it is easy to understand, but since it is inconvenient for a group here they fantasize of all kind of imaginary exceptions for DTV holders without any proof, creating a lot of incorrect answers.
The fact that at entry of the country most rules are not enforced for the majority of aliens as immigration is calling foreigners, makes some of these fantasies look like they are real.
You will not be denied reentry to Thailand after your qualifying course has expired. If asked; 'purpose of visit?' answering; 'vacation' has previously proven effective.
Denying entry is something IO decides about, since you say your purpose of stay does not match the purpose of stay you got the visa for there is a risk IO denies entry.
Normally they don't check, but you might use a fast track service to reduce risk further.
ThoughtfulSalamander8389 I asked many times to my school they say it's not mandatory to complete 6 months class every year after you done your 6 months of class.
ThoughtfulSalamander8389 This indeed can happen, it is always up to IO to decide about entry and when the visa is issued with purpose of visit soft power and you are not enrolled in soft power the IO can ask why you still visit the country and decide if it is allowed or not.
