Can I legally maintain my online business income while on a DTV visa obtained through soft power in Thailand?

DTV soft power, can I still have online income?

I heard conflicting answers about it and I would like to clarify my doubts.

I am getting DTV through soft power, but I have an online business (website) with a small income (1k euro monthly usually). Am I allowed to keep working on the business even if I got a DTV via soft power?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Digital Travel Visa) issued through soft power does not explicitly permit online work, especially if it involves Thai clients. However, responses from the community vary, with some indicating that it's possible to maintain an online business without issues. It's essential to ensure that the work doesn't violate visa conditions.

Yes, as long as it fits into the same criteria.

If you work with Thai clients. It’s not allowed.

That being said. There is many high profile influencers on the DTV while also working with Thai customers and there hasn’t been any action taken on them

DTV is DTV. There is no separation once granted, the only time it will come up is if extending at immigration

Anonymous participant 445 that's not true, it is issued for a purpose. That's like saying you obtained a Non-O visa and you can use it for whatever purpose you like

Your DTV was issued for a purpose, one of the soft power options. It was not issued to allow you to work remotely

When applying for Soft Power you are asked what your job is and whether it's fully online. Some embassies even ask pay slips so definitely not a problem provided you don't have any clients in Thailand.

when applying for soft power they normally ask you to show how you can support yourself, that's a different question. Be careful with the answer

They literally ask for your job. I entered my job and explained I was working online in my letter and got approved. Stop spreading misinformation.

you can even work remotely on the tourist visa as long as it is not for Thai companies or collecting money from Thailand. Stop spreading wrong information

of course, I certainly will follow classes because I actually am a Muay Thai fighter. I have paid a 1 year course to get my visa.

My question was because i can’t stop people from buying from my e-commerce of course, I would need to close the business which is a stupid idea. Was looking for an answer to understand it it was legal or not to have an online income while on soft power DTV

Anonymous participant in my view, which I tried to give above, is that it is not. You don't have permission to work remotely from Thailand.

Stay under the radar ... ONLY with your customers outside of Thailand.

Be sure to attend the course of study for which you have the DTV visa... don't miss doing that !

thank you very much. Got it with Muay Thai gym. I practice Muay Thai at a very high level, so I would like to practice it for the whole 5 years honestly because my life is all around this sport.

I won’t miss the classes, but certainly after the first 1 year of course that I am going to start soon, I would like to try different gyms in other areas of Thailand
