My main bank account has had less than 500,000 in it as all my money is tied up in investments and such.

I've just dumped 500,000 baht into my bank account and have a statement showing the account has more than 500,000 baht inside, however, will this be a red flag due to not having 500,000baht worth of my hoem currency in my account for over 6 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about whether recent deposits into their bank account, which now exceeds 500,000 baht, may raise red flags for their visa application, as they had less than this amount in the account for the past six months. Responses from the community suggest that showing proof of a stable financial history through investment statements can help clarify the situation. Some users advised that different embassies may handle this differently, but generally, this should not be a problem during the visa application process.

Depends where you go

I'd show the investment account history statement along with the 500k bank statement. This shows you have financial security for a long time, but you had to move some of it to comply with the visa requirements. A brief cover letter stating such can't hurt.

I’m in Australia btw but I’d like to apply here then go to Vietnam for 1-2 weeks. Is it possible to go to Nam while I wait for processing?

It's says your account has to show 500,000 baht it says nothing about requiring it to be there for a certain amount of time and others have had no issue doing like what your stating so it shouldn't be a problem

Depends on the local consulate. Generally should not be a problem. I had the same situation, no questions.

I’m saying, if I haven’t had more than 500,000 in my bank for the last 6 months, is it an issue?

Currently No (vietnam and london), As long as your had at least some in it 100-300k? over the laast 6 months with contant transcations. If it goes from 0-500k baht the day before with no transacations over the last 6 months, then they will probably reject it. I emailed HCMC and Hanoi recently and they said it fine

@Joel ******
where are you going to apply for the DTV visa?

It depends on the embassy. I did the same as you for London embassy and they were fine with it.
