TLDR : Answer Summary
The thread discusses various individuals and entities that can sign a Proof of Life document for expats in Thailand. Common options include witnesses like professionals (doctors, police officers), local notary offices, and even village heads or teachers with appropriate stamps. Some suggest getting it signed at the local police station or using a bank, while experiences vary based on country-specific requirements such as for UK pensions or US Social Security.

As an American I just sign it myself and send it back. I’ve got my proof of life letter waiting for me in Thailand. I will return tomorrow and sign it in the next week.

I get the state pension from the UK and have twice had to do this over the years.

First time I got my doctor to do it but she charged for it. The second time I got the condo manager to sign and put his building stamp on it. Both were accepted without a problem

A Pharmacist as a witness has been acceptable in the past for me, as long as they have a stamp with the name of the pharmacy and the branch address to accompany their signature.

you need to have a "person of standing" like village head, mayor, or a professional person like police man, doctor, I get a teacher to sign, they need to have a stamp of thier company. It needs to be done every 24 months, if in doubt call uk.gov there very helpful.

For US SS only. If you sign it with a mark, u need a witness to sign below your mark. Anyone can be a witness.

That's not correct for everyone. It depends which country you are from. The pension department of your country specifies who can be a witness. Thus will vary from country to country of origin, and is normally outlined on the letter attached to the Proof of Life certicate( which in New Zealands case comes every 6 months).
