Asking for a friend

Please Help!

Immigration will not extend my retirement visa because I don’t have a document verifying pension. Have everything else.

I have 3 days to figure this out or I will have the leave Thailand. Anyone have any ideas, resources (Pattaya?), to help?

Desperate!!!!

I used a letter from social security, Teamster benefit and TRW retirement. They accepted everything as proof.

Is he married to a Thai or the parent of a Thai child?

Your friend doesn't have to provide his pension details, and even if he does it won't help him. As he's American he only has 2 options when applying for an extension.

1. Have transferred into his Thai bank account 65k baht minimum each and every month for the previous 12 months, or

2. Have a minimum of 800k baht in his Thai bank account 2 months before he applies for the extension.

some immigration offices do allow a combo of CASH in the Thai bank and Annual income verification. Jomtien is one that will ALLOW the combination.

If he is an American and is using Social Security as his pension source, then he can log-on to the Social Security website at ssa dot gov, and download his benefits letter.

If he is an American using a pension source from a company, he should be able to contact the company and have them send him a benefits letter or statement. Many companies have a benefits website where he can download the letter/statement.

If he is an American using a pseudo-pension, as in transferring savings or investment funds, then he doesn't truly have a pension.

You need the benefits documented being deposited in your Thai bank in addition to the verification letter.

Not enough information. Is he on visa or extension? Is this his first extension or later extensions? What’s his nationality ? Is he from a country that allows his embassy to provide an affadavit of pension income ? On what financial basis is he wanting to get a one year extension?
