TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around choosing between a UK and a USA passport for long-term stays in Thailand. While both passports have similar immigration advantages, several comments highlight specific scenarios: using the USA passport may be beneficial for starting a business due to the Amity Agreement allowing 100% ownership, while the UK passport led to complications in previous entries and rejections for excessive tourist visas. Users suggest being cautious with which passport is used for entry and emphasize that Thai immigration tracks entries using biometric data. Ultimately, opinions vary, with some considering the USA passport to be preferable.

Both mediocre passports, doesn't much matter...

USA all the way. You don’t want UK.

I love how westerners think they can trick other countries 🙄 tech is everywhere- some small ‘poor’ countries are developing the tech you have in your hand.
Facial recognition and fingerprint scans are everywhere. Jfc
what makes you think he’s trying to scam the system? There are many people with dual citizenship, such as myself. Of course, when you think negatively everything that comes out of your mouth is going to be negative.
🙄 the OP can take my comment personally, or not (my comment was of a more general nature in regard to some comments here and that are seen so often in this group) and address it, or not🤷🏻♀️ Why you’ve interjected yourself I can’t even imagine. You are of course free to label me as you wish.
well it doesn’t fit 🤷🏻♀️ and you’re still mistaken in your interpretation. If you have no respect for my explanation in that regard and insist that you understand me better than what I’ve explained as my meaning, then yes, I can agree that it illustrates you- more than me 👍🏼
It’s sort of funny really, because you’re the negative and hateful one? First you misunderstood and mischaracterized me-
Then I explained that you had misunderstood and mentioned that it’s odd you would jump into a conversation you’re not in and make such an accusation and ‘protect’ the OP… you responded with more rudeness, insisting you’re right- and called me hateful. That’s the most negative shit in this whole thread 🤔

Best passport for long stay in Thailand is to have Thai passport.

Yeah. UK/USA is six and two threes , all your visits will be on that screen. Get a decent visa. I was rejected a few months back for to many tourist visas. Though admittedly I had pushed it way to far .

Its not so much of the passport, immigration in Thailand use face and finger scan now.

They are the same immigration wise however if you intend starting a business go with US passport due to Amity agreement, you can own 100% of business and not need the whole
“absolved”? 😆 English isn’t your native language, I take it. “Absorbed” would be the word you’re looking for. And, no, I don’t think the US really cares about any of those countries. Oh, you were referring to the orange clown child’s incoherent ramblings?? 🤣 🤡
Bye bye Country of canada.... You soon shall become the District of Canada!

Not really much of an advantage. I have USA and UK passports. We had a retirement visa on the USA passport for a couple of years then covid and other issues arrived. We left and decided to return to Thailand on the U.K. passport. We got pulled aside and were asked whether we had more than one then asked why we were not using the USA passport.
The IM know that you have two. When applying for either you reported that you have both I’m guessing? Also Thai IM have you in the database with fingerprints and photos so they know which you entered on last.
yeap the days of switching passports in the air, getting new passports with new name due to deed poll etc are all long gone now... Finger prints, facial recognition, international agreements on sharing dual nationality info etc.. They pretty much know who you are before you get on the plane... 🤣🤣
💯 . I have two passeport and I used to use either when entering Thailand as a tourist but with no intention of cheating the system but they are end up asking me about my 2 passports. They take your finger prints and photos. You can not cheat the system.
