Which Immigration Offices Near Bangkok Are More Lenient for Tourist Visa Extensions?

Certainly there are some strict and unkind immigration officials, and there are some who are just easier to deal with, more lenient.

I need to extend a tourist exemption which means I can go to an immigration office anywhere in Thailand as long as I stay in a hotel the night before.

I'm an American citizen (haven't been to the US in two years), but I'm worried about negative attitude due to the recent spike in coronavirus cases in the US (now around 3000).

So my question is this. Does anyone know where immigration officials tend to be more lenient, less strict, just easier to deal with? Particularly in towns north of Bangkok?

This probably could only be answered by someone who has been here awhile and has some intimate knowledge and experience. Anyway, much appreciated, if anyone might even be able to answer.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights experiences and suggestions for obtaining a tourist visa extension in Thailand, particularly near Bangkok. Users share mixed experiences with immigration officials, noting that some offices, like Chaeng Wattana and Nonthaburi, may have friendlier staff. Good dress and polite behavior are recommended for better treatment. Concerns about immigration officers' attitudes due to COVID-19 are also addressed, with reassurance that extensions are typically granted, especially during the pandemic.

okay, you have some suggestions.

Dress properly as you normally do when you visit a Government office in your country, I guess you do not do that in your swim shorts so why should you do it here.

Be polite and you will get served on a normal way.

Good luck

If people think Chaeng Wattana, is good, then I might go for that since it's only a 20 minute drive from me.

The value of this is appreciated when you have experienced the other end of it. It's also well organized albeit can be more then a bit busy at times

I don't know how close you are to Kalasin, but I have only been treated well there. Also in the three times I have been there, it has only been me or one other.

This one should cover people living in the Rangsit area, shouldn't it? Rangsit, just north of Don Mueang.

Yeah, I was a little worried about that. Depending on the place, I'm sure you wouldn't want people to think you were giving them a bribe.

Cookies. I wouldn't recommend unless it's a small office. They may see it as a bribe.

Will a pair of more formal, dark jeans do?

You don't need to dress nice, just closed tip shoes, decent pants, a shirt that covers the shoulders is good enough

They all need to see the same requirements:

Your passport

copy id page

copy admitted until stamp

copy TM6 departure card

1 passport picture

1.900 Thb Fee

Application Form.

Assumptions about behavior i will ignore, but do not do that again.
