**Embassies for Following visa

**

At KL embassy in June, I got my application for a following visa refused. KL previously issued me one, but they said they had changed their policy.

I'm following my Australian wife on a Non-O visa.

Which nearby embassies are known to be the friendliest for offering Following visas?

Answer summary

The user inquired about nearby embassies known for being friendly in processing following visas after a refusal at the Kuala Lumpur embassy, where a change in policy was cited. Comments highlighted that Vientiane does not offer this service, while Penang had previously aided with this before Covid and may still be a viable option. There were also suggestions to contact Penang and Savannakhet directly for updates on their current processing status.

Maybe one of the ideas is to contact Penang or Savannkeht directly. We have a report someone could get Non-O dependent on a Non-O retirement visa/extension holder from Penang early this year if I remember right. Not sure current situation. Check with them.

Is your wife on a Non-O visa or something else? If so what purpose?

as you realise you can't get this inside Thailand. I'd recommend contacting the Thai embassy in Penang as I believe they issue this.

Vientiane does NOT,

No idea if Savannakhet will

Penang USED to do it pre-covid

Doubtful HCMC or Hanoi will

unknown about Phnom Penh
