Iβm an Iranian passport holder currently in Thailand. Do you have any recommendations for neighboring countries where I can apply for the DTV visa? I havenβt found many success stories about applying here. Thank you π

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Iranian passport holder currently in Thailand seeks recommendations for neighboring countries to apply for a DTV visa. Responses suggest Laos and Vietnam but highlight potential issues due to restrictions on Iranian applicants. One commenter mentions successfully acquiring a visa from Jakarta with a different passport, while another advises applying directly in Thailand or at the Thai embassy in Tehran. Additional considerations regarding processing times and specific embassy requirements are also noted.
Ensure that whatever embassy you apply through accepts applications from your passport country and be aware there may be additional checks and processing times. The embassy website will list the nation's with additional requirements.
There is a Thai embassy in Tehran. Best try at home, since Iran is a "restricted" country like many African countries. I'm African and got mine at home. By restricted I mean we can't get it from neighboring countries like Vietnam or Laos.
Anonymous participant I think, every nationality can apply from there, you just have to be there physically and they may ask for interviews in some cases
Anonymous participant 667 If you want to apply thai visa in Vietnam, here are the additional requirements specific for Iranians and similarly situated foreign nationals:
β’ Vietnamese Residence Card or Work Permit, valid, usually with at least 6 months remaining.
