IO photographed my visa. Told me I was stamped in until 02/12/2020. No mention of insurance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of re-entering Thailand on an O-A visa in December 2019. They reported a smooth process where no insurance was asked for, and they were stamped in until early December. The community discussed various related topics such as differing experiences with immigration officers about insurance requirements and the types of travel insurance that are accepted.

Question on insurance.
Holders of some credit cards are offered full medical cover as a card benefit.. even if travel is not booked on the card.
Would this be acceptable?

probably to BUY an O-A visa from a thai consulate in your country or to enter thailand while that O-A visa was valid
BUT
As far as using it to get a yearly extension of stay, nope, for that you need to use one of the 12 thai insurance providers

It seems some of the IO's may feel the insurance protocol is a bit harsh and maybe using their lenient arms while they can. Just hope none of them lose their jobs over it though...
