O-A retirement visa Update:

Had my visa since April, So first time went out of the country since the new mandatory health insurance came in. I went to Laos for a short motorcycle tour: came in at Vientiane, and exited at Nakhon Phanom, my visa was well scrutinised by the IO, and a senior, after much discussion between the two of them, I was stamped back in for another year, no mention of the health insurance at all. Hope this helps people who are worried about coming back in, this was my experience..... And as you know it may well pedend on the IO at the time.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience with the O-A retirement visa after traveling to Laos and returning to Thailand. They noted that the immigration officer strictly reviewed their visa but did not mention the new mandatory health insurance requirement. This report is reassuring for others concerned about returning to Thailand under the current regulations, although individual experiences may vary.

Thanks for the information. For some good news, for others not so good news. There are still different reports on how Immigration at check points handle this new requirement. You did by land border, others came in by air. As we had last night already the discussions about all the pros cons, Immigration, health insurance, hospital bills etc, for tonight I close it all down before we start again. Thanks and enjoy your time inside Thailand.
