Sorry about the anonymous post I don't usually do it but don't want a certain person bugging me. Done my second entry today at chiang khong and it was smooth asf. Leaving laos he said you only stayed one night but I had my print out to hand and (laminated with dtv print out on one side and soft power document on the other side.a smile and through in 2 mins max. On the thai side exactly the same but took a bit longer as the lady was interested about my cycle touring as I was entering with my touring bike.took about 3 mins max. Showed my dtv but she just passed it back to be with a โคกดีและปลอดภัยเดินทาง.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post describes a smooth re-entry process into Thailand from Laos at the Chiang Khong border. The author mentions having the necessary documentation, including a laminated printout, and encounters with immigration officers who were more interested in discussing the author's cycling tour than asking about entry requirements. Comment discussions cover border crossing experiences, the implications of staying only one night in Laos, and how different visa types affect entry regulations.

Oh and another thing,there was a yank trying g to get back to chiang khong,but he had no kip and 5 baht to his name and he wanted to pay the bus ticket by bank transfer.they obviously said no and he kicked off big time,effing and jeffing but did didn't get on the bus. He had no luggage and couldn't understand why he couldn't pay for the bus ticket by bank transfer!! Amused me!

Just thought id mentioned it was straightforward and sad painless. Thet were more interested in my mode of transport rather than than anything else.

I had family death and flew to Vietnam after entering Thailand for two weeks with DTV. I came back into Thailand without any questions. I then left to another country for businesses a month later. I came back into Thailand without any questions.

Why would someone bug you for entering as per the norm ?
Anonymous ******************
@Andi **********
Because that border crossing normally wants you to spend 2 nights in Laos before allowing you to return to Thailand
Luit *****************
Anonieme deelnemer 307 For spending 2 nights out of the country it does not give any legal ground, also not when entering on visa exempt, but since it is up to IO to deide about entering the country, you cannot do anything about it when they refuse entry.

Anonymous participant 307 Only if doing a visa exempt entry (no visa)

Anonymous participant 307 ok, i see what you mean..
Kenny *****
Anonymous participant 307 not applicable for DTV holders as its multiple entry visa.

Yeah - I thought the overnight was only for Visa Exempt border bounces. The Border Run advertisers usually mention no need for overnight for DTV.
