What kind of visa?

Hey I wanna get an apartment in Bangkok for a year but I’m not sure what’s the right visa for that. I will have to leave every now and then due to my work but I can’t get an rental contract without the right visa. What’s the best option here? DTV or educational visa?
Answer summary
The conversation revolves around the best visa options for someone wishing to rent an apartment in Bangkok for a year while occasionally leaving for work. Several users advised against using an Education Visa due to restrictions on working and leaving the country. The DTV Visa (Digital Nomad Visa) was recommended as a suitable choice, especially for remote work. Others noted that securing a rental doesn't require a specific visa, and previous experiences with various visas while renting were shared.

You don’t need a visa to secure a rental. Just need your damage deposit and monthly rent is all

If you are over 50 then the non O is a good option.

Alex Koch . . . the easiest and fastest Thai Embassy in Europe to use for the application to the Workation DTV, is the Royal Thai Embassy Bern, Switzerland. You need to be physically in Switzerland if you want to apply through the online e-visa system of the Bern embassy

Alex Koch you can't work remotely legally with ED.

DTV is your only option.

I have yet to be asked for my visa and I’ve lived and rented here for four years on an education visa.. getting a rental contract is the easiest thing as long as you have the cash for it

You get visas from embassies and consulates . You could always look at the website of your local embassy/ consulate to see what the requirements are . There really is no need for an agency .

sign up for a reputable soft power course of longer than 6 months and they should supply the paperwork you need to provide in your application

Education visa isn't going to work for you as they frown on people leaving while they are meant to be studying. If you will also work remotely while in Thailand get a DTV based on Workation, if you won't get one based on one of the soft power courses
