My METV is up in July and I don’t know what visa I should get next? I want to stay for another year or more, but I like to travel around outside of the country for two weeks at a time. I also want to leave for two months during burning season. Can I leave if I have a Ed Visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on the best visa options to pursue after their METV expires in July. They want to extend their stay in Thailand for another year, with a preference for a visa that allows them to travel outside the country for periods of two weeks and also leave Thailand for two months during the burning season. Comments suggest that continuing with a METV may be the easiest option, although challenges related to study requirements for an ED Visa could make travel difficult.

and I think on that note the O/P has enough information to make a decision as to what to do.

Okay, people she works ONLINE outside of thailand and wants to use this place as a home base to travel around S/E Asia.

Thai immigrations has already said multiple times they are NOT targeting people who live here yet work outside the country online so the advice or warnings about needing a b visa and a work permit are a little much.

IF she did wanna go that way I'd say she should look into Iglu;

@Aud***
it is highly unlikely you're going to be able to meet the required hours of study to get ED visa extensions AND travel around like you have outlined, I'd say another METV would be the easiest thing.

Go back to the US and get a new 6 month METV or the closest thai consulate that will sell a 6 month METV without a residency requirement is the one in Perth Australia.
