Hi guys again, I got some urgent enquires that your kind help.

I have a 4 months old Thai born kid, due to some complications my wife & I can't complete the process of registering our marriage legally (Awesome Singapore). Currently on ED visa which is coming to an end on 5th Sept.

I can only complete the process of registering our marriage next May onwards.

What are the Visa options I have on the table?

Is there a Dependant Visa based on Thai kid, Where and what requirements needed?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on visa options for a foreign parent of a Thai child, currently on an ED visa set to expire soon, while facing delays in registering their marriage. Suggestions from the community include applying for a 90-day single entry Non-O visa using the child's birth certificate and the mother's Thai ID, with further extensions possible. Other options discussed include potential financial requirements and alternative non-immigrant visas that might be pursued.

OR

you could go to the thai consulate in Penang and with the same documentation AND proof of 400K baht in a thai bank account (no seasoning required) you could get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa (the kind where you border bounce every 90 days to get another 90 day stamp for the whole year. You can get 15 months of stay out of that type of visa (in 90 day increments) and then get a 60 day extension on top of it taking you to 17 months in total.

having a half thai child out of wedlock limits your options. You can get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa with the birth certificate, the mother's thai i/d card and the child's house book listing at the thai consulates in Vientiane and Savannakhet.

Tod: alrighty. Thanks

@Wilson ****
you need signed copies of front & back of the mother's thai i/d, take the original birth certificate, and a copy you sign. Copies of the relevant pages in your passport (data page, lao visa, lao entry stamp)

Don't really need the mother's house book listing but you can take a signed copy of you want to.

Things needed to prepare before going to Vientiane or Savannakhet will be

- Birth Cert original copy or photocopy, does it need to be signed by my kid's mother

- Mother's front and back ID card in photocopy with signature

- Child house book original or photocopy with signature?

- Should I bring along Mother's house book as well?

@Wilson ****
no, neither of those thai consulates have financial requirements on a 90 day single entry Non-O for that reason.

Will there be any financial requirements? Like the 400k baht?

After that you could get a 60 day 'visit family' extension at the immigration office which would give you 5 months in total. Then you could go to Vientiane or Savannakhet and get another 90 day single entry Non-O. I know people in your situation who have many many of those 90 day visas plus 60 day extensions in their passport/
