Looking into options for next Thai visa.I recently used a METV staying around 150 days in Thailand.I've now been advised if I apply for this type visa again this year its likely it'll be issued but no guarantee of entry because of amount of time spent in Thailand.Would a DTV soft power or non o retirement (im over 50 and have the funds available) suit me....appreciate any helpful advice

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is exploring their options for a Thai visa after spending about 150 days in Thailand on a METV. They have been advised that while they might get the METV again, entry is not guaranteed due to their extended stay. They are considering a Non-O retirement visa or a DTV visa, as they are over 50 and have the necessary funds. Comments from others seek clarification on the METV extension process and discuss the individual's purpose of stay, noting that they are retired and looking to travel seasonally.

@Robert Lagas Retired guess I would fall into the tourist category. I have no plans to permanently relocate to Thailand six month stays over the UK winter period suits me fine. It appears a METV is not a guaranteed option and the thought of putting eight hundred thousand baht into a Thai bank for non o extension purpose is of putting.

Sorry, no advice but some questions. Did you find it easy to extend your METV ? Did you have to leave the country and cone back in? Thanks!

Two total different types of visa.

What is the your purpose of stay in Thailand, do you work, are fully retired, or just playing tourist or something else.

Your purpose decide the type of visa.
