First time my family and I will be vacationing in Thailand. What vaccinations should we have done prior to visiting? We will be spending times in both the north and south areas.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When planning a vacation to Thailand, it's important to consider necessary vaccinations for your family. Key recommendations include the rabies vaccine, especially if you'll be around wild dogs or monkeys, and the standard tetanus vaccine. Other vaccines, such as hepatitis and typhoid, are often suggested. If you plan to trek through rural areas, consider getting the Japanese encephalitis vaccine in Thailand rather than in your home country, as it is significantly cheaper there. Additionally, you may want to stay updated on COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

If you expect to do any trekking through less urban areas, you might look at getting japanese encephalitis vaccine. Don't get it at home though, wait until you're in Thailand. For me it would've been $800 to get it in the US, but it was $25 in Thailand.

No need for vaccinations.

Tetanus is standard no matter where you live or visit. The rest, like hepatitis/typhoid etc are often recommended.

Rabies. Beware of the wild soi dogs and monkeys attacking you. I made the mistake of not getting, and when I was nipped by a dog in Phuket, it was five jabs. The pre-vaccine is only three
