Can I use a criminal record clearance from my current state of residence for a Thailand retirement visa?

Does anyone know if the criminal record clearance for supporting docs for a retirement visa can be from the USA state you’re currently in or should it be where your permanent residence is (even if you haven’t lived there)?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether a criminal record clearance needed for a retirement visa in Thailand must come from the applicant's permanent residence state or their current state of residence. Several contributors shared their experiences, indicating that local/state checks from their current location were accepted. Thus, it appears that a national criminal check or clearances from local authorities of your current residency are sufficient for this visa application.
