Why was my workation visa application rejected in Hanoi despite providing all requested documents?

Just got rejected in Hanoi 🤣 Workation path

Provided everything they asked for, have no idea why they didn't like me :(

Maybe because I showed them 500k THB on my Thai bank account? Or that I put 500k there just 2 days before application

But the proof of income that I showed them was from my home country bank. Have all documents, etc. no idea

Will try to apply again in Jakarta LOL

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of having their workation visa application rejected in Hanoi, despite providing all requested documents and showing a considerable amount in their Thai bank account. They speculated that the rejection could be due to the recent deposit of funds or inconsistencies in documentation. Several comments discussed the importance of having funds in a bank account for a longer period, the potential impact of prior border runs, and challenges faced with visa applications in Vietnam. Others shared their experiences and offered advice on how to approach visa applications more successfully.

I was also rejected in Hanoi for a technicality and went to the embassy 3x before I resubmitted and spoke to the people who were super helpful.

I’d recommend just going to the embassy with all the docs and asking them what the problem was

VIETNAM is the most annoying country in SEA regarding papers, visa or even name on flight tickets ( I visited more than 50+ countries, it’s the only one wanted to make trouble because my middle names was not written on flight ticket).

To resume : always avoid Vietnam when dealing with papers and do it in a more friendly / welcoming place.

Yes, money has to be there for 3 months. That is 100% why you would be denied. 3 months of bank statements. It doesn't have to be in a Thai Bank account. Sorry, fail more.

Show the funds long term in the bank in your western account better than just transfer a few days before into Thai, their looking to see you have long-term funds not just recently deposited

A wild guess would be that you got too many border runs perhaps? Makes no sense otherwise.

Anonymous participant - Ok, just making sure, since there is also a consulate in HCMC. If you were in the southern half of the country, you would have needed to apply via them. But it sounds like this isn’t why you are rejected.

they asked my company business registration, provided them a translation from the government service. And also they mentioned that I put 500k 2 days before application, and asked me to prove one more time that I have them. Maybe they wanted to see another source, IDK

Participant(e) anonyme 2 days is too short for the transfer I think. Especially if the account has a low or no activity.

not easy anymore DTV isn’t applicable. You need residency certificate from Thai immigration. This process isn’t an easy feat any longer.

For many years easy to open via an agent and possible by yourself. Now very difficult to DIY, still possible via an agent for a higher price than previous years.

Thai bank accounts are acceptable for DTV approval. Vietnam is fine with a final balance of 500k, does not need to be there 3-6 months. They gave no reason for rejection? If there is a problem with names, DOB etc it leads to immediate rejection.
