Community members suggest various approaches such as contacting the embassy, reapplying independently, and sharing application details for assistance. The discussion highlights issues with visa applications submitted through agencies, emphasizing the importance of submitting a clear, precise application with proper documentation. Multiple commenters express concern over recent denials linked to boilerplate applications and encourage users to consider applying again at different embassies.

That sucks let me ask how much did you pay for the agency to do everything? Above 50,000 baht probably

If you do it yourself, it’s only 10,000 bar for the Visa and then 15,000 bar for the new Thai course . It’s extremely easy to do if you look for online guides

I recommend going phuket king in Kathu….just 15,000 for Muay Thai DTV

This is yet another DTV visa application being DENIED by the Thai Consulate in Hanoi. We have seen several DENIED in recent days. ALL were AGENCY PREPARED applications. IMHO...Boilerplate applications are being DENIED by Hanoi.

Which is even more unacceptable than normal. Assuming all criteria has been met, applications shouldn't be rejected because of certain odd phrases or paragraphs being repeatedly spotted.

I’d say it depends. If a visa agency is providing supporting documents which are crudely copy pasted together or they are submitting the exact same documents then that may lead to some concerns that the documents or application is fraudulent.

At the end of the day, people really don’t need to use an agent for a DTV and if they do use an agent they should really only be used to review your documents and you submit them on your own.

Anonymous participant 344 That’s your opinion. If true, highlights further failings by embassies. Docs must either be accepted as genuine or the applicant afforded the opportunity to prove validity. Employing an agent is personal choice. There are no regulations about who must submit an application.

While you may be logically correct, the fact is that we are NOW seeing many reports of DTV Visa being DENIED by the Thai Consulate in Hanoi. AND those DENIED were using an AGENT.

Yeah, I suspect a lot of these recent denials of people using agents is likely due to agents either using some sort of template document or some sort of obvious AI slop that leads to staff questioning the legitimacy of the document.

No. You are not approved. That's that. No feedback.

Did you attach any income source? And a formal letter why you want to reside in Thailand, stating your income? Not saying that is the reason but officer might prefer those as per my experience

Don’t use agency. It’s easy to prepare the documents yourself. All they do is send in the information you sent them. So you might as well send it yourself. Many of the Hanoi rejects I see applied through an agency. I would redo the application from scratch with a clear check list of the few things you need. I would also run it through ChatGPT to check for any small errors you might’ve missed or to make it more concise and easy to read. Also did you send in proof that you are actively in Vietnam? Also, idk why people say don’t go to the embassy, it’s not forbidden. You might as well go up there and see if you can ask why. Long shot but you are already rejected no harm in trying.

If the agency didn’t even let you review the documents before they submitted your application how do you even know what they submitted? This sounds highly irregular.

Usually they'll just reject without giving a reason, if very soon into the process perhaps a mistake on your name/documents. It can be sketchier if you can't show the financial requirements and are using agents to "fix" things. I have the remote work based DTV but I occasionally meet people who have it for muay thai/other activities, sometimes issued for only 2-3 years instead of 5.

they did ask for an updated document from the muay thai gym early on into the application which I provided. I would take 6 months at this stage never mind

Step 1: share details about your application here and let people look at the details and help you

Step 2: improve the application if possible

Step 3: take decision on applying again at another embassy.

There have been cases approved after rejection in the first attempt.

So the agency submitted but when rejected do not refund money. They just give you Embassy email to ask why. You have been had big time by this agency. Name and shame.

- You dont think that is strange? You have to sign off on your application and you don’t even have the details? Did they create your documents? I am 75% certain your rejection has to do with going through and agency that created documents for you

I went through a company who submitted my application for me and reviewed all my documents ( documents from my muay thai gym and owner, confirmation of payment for 6 months training, 6 months of bank statements showing more than the amount needed for application for more than 3 months and the other basic documents needed for application). Ive been in hanoi the whole time for application and processing of visa. Its been 9 days since application and got an email to say my visa has been rejected

am I right in understanding that at the start of the 6 months of bank statements, you didnt have the 500k? Only from 3 months onwards?

That could be the issue, sounds like you’ve been unlucky though🙏

in the recent past, there have been multiple cases reported of rejections while applying through an agency.

You can apply again at another embassy but only after analysing as to what can be improved upon.

Anonymous participant 710 unfortunately not, company have said they wont charge me any further service fee to reply but obvs would have to pay another visa fee to apply but find it a bit pointless reapplying without knowing what was wrong with the original application
