TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about reapplying for the STV visa after having their TR visa accepted. They expressed interest in the guaranteed 9-month stay offered by the STV visa. Commenters suggested canceling the TR visa or not using it and just applying for the STV, mentioning that the STV is currently available to all countries.

STV is available to all countries now.

Scott Crighton. Condition for the TR is "confirmed accommodation in applicant's name". Does not specify hotel. Provided you have lease/ownership documents in your name, this will be accepted. The STV (being longer term) does specify a little clearer as shown in the picture. They simply want to know where you can be contacted should there be any later issues (such as a delayed outbreak from your flight etc).
I've used my fiances condo with zero proof of ownership. When asked I said I was staying at my finances. I find it odd that they would expect someone with a tourist visa to have proof of ownership, since they are supposed to be a tourist. Perhaps that is just meant for hotels? But who knows, just because it worked for me does not meant it always will, or that it will for everyone.

Wylie Pfaff. Yes I don't think it's that crucial for the TR, that's why the wording is a bit loose. I have an Aussie friend is coming on the TR. He made a booking on Agoda that could be cancelled right up to 24 hours before check-in as his proof and it was accepted no problem. His attention is to travel to a few places, and doesn't know his itinerary, so it's all a bit airy-fairy

Scott Crighton. As far as I understand, it's acceptable. It's for the purpose of track/trace. If you have ownership documents or lease I see no reason why it would not meet the criteria.
yes but cannot find on uk embassy website or where to apply...

Laurence Enzo. It's been passed by cabinet, but it does not become law until published in the government gazette. This can take another seven days or more. The embassies will not update until it's official.
it may take time for embassies to update, some take a long time. Same thing happened when the TR visa started to be offered again. If you are looking to convert to another Visa once in Thailand I don't believe the STV can be converted. In case that would factor into your decision.

Try to cancel it, if not just dont use the TR visa and apply for the STV. You'll lose the money you paid for the TR but that's only about ยฃ50.
